Racing is where offers get specialised: each-way extras, non-runner protection and boosted prices on single races. This section explains the terms those promotions lean on.

Each-way means two bets in one, win and place, so the outlay is twice the unit; the market quotes the place terms, which vary with the race and the bookmaker. The Rule 4 deduction after a non-runner, plus starting price and ante-post, shape what a boosted price finally pays.

Duty works differently here. Remote bets on UK horse racing stay at the 15% rate even when remote betting generally moves to 25% from 1 April 2027, and the Horserace Betting Levy is the reason offered for that carve-out.
